About the project
The World Wisdom is a student-led initiative from Oxford International School in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. We record short videos in which elders give one piece of life advice in their mother tongue, and add subtitles checked by native speakers. Grandchildren and volunteers film them on ordinary phones, always with the elder’s consent. The project began in Uzbekistan and Central Asia and accepts recordings in any language: each new recording lights up its country on the site’s globe.
